For years, dogs usually Labradors or golden retrievers have been used to guide people who are blind. But have you ever wondered how these animals manage to guide their human charges across the street safely? Dogs it is commonly believed are colour blind. So how do they know when the light is green? In fact, guide dogs do not pay attention to the colour of the light they stop at every curb. It is up to the human to listen carefully for traffic noises, and then to tell the dog when to start crossing. However, the dog is trained to do whatever is necessary to get the human out of harm’s way stopping, pulling him or her aside, or even putting itself between a car and its master.
